Re: Slim on-camera LED light

I bought one of these and sent it back. It didn't have enough output, especially compared to my Neewer CN160. When you blend tungsten and daylight the output is about halved, as well.

Re: NX5U record to Laptop?

No I don't. I think the one of those capture devices that serve as intermediary to my laptop would suit me best. Thanks.

Re: NX5U record to Laptop?

Yeah, I didn't want to spend the money on one of those externals. I do have a MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt and an external SSD. I was considering doing legal depositions and they want a backup.

NX5U record to Laptop?

Is it possible to simultaneously record to SD card as well as a laptop? What would be necessary? Can it be done via USB cable? Can Adobe Premiere's Capture function be used?

Re: GH 4 Firmware Update

I ran into the same issue as Bryce. It's strange that there's a page that seems to be the correct one for the GH4 update, but isn't. Not sure how I landed on it. As Bryce said, the correct file is...

Re: Widest Wide

Perhaps it's because you guys are across the pond. I've never had an issue or had people stop dancing because of my light. It actually does the opposite and people ham it up for the camera. Also,...

Re: Widest Wide

Why aren't you guys using LED lights? I never have an issue with lighting because I bring my own. Neewer CN160. Lightweight, cheap, and the thin Sony NP-F550 batteries last forever.

Re: Widest Wide

This is off-topic, but at that wedding yesterday the dinner seating area (it was an outdoor wedding) had lights that caused horrible flickering/banding. The Synchro Scan feature on the GH4 worked...

Re: Widest Wide

I use traditional cameras, so I'm well aware of the use of ND filters. The sweet spot for most lenses is between fully open and fully closed, so they help achieve that. Razor thin focus is easily...

Re: Widest Wide

When I'm using the 7-14 outdoors I generally stop down as I don't generally use an ultra wide angle lens for shallow dof shots. When the lights go off in a wedding I turn on my on-camera LED. ...

Re: Widest Wide

I think people make a bigger deal about shooting indoors than is necessary. I use the 7-14 indoors all the time on real estate, corporate, wedding, etc.

libsndfile in Audition??

Anyone else deal with this? I tried downloading it from a site, but I'm not sure I need to do all this. I'm on a Mac. Any thoughts?

Re: GH4 and Canon FD Lenses?

I have a 50mm f/1.4 FDn. It's nice for a film look, but it's nowhere near as sharp as the newer m4/3 lenses.
