Re: OK, critique my Save The Date

ISO 160

It was cuz I had iris wide open. So many "duhs" for me.

But honestly, the one telling me to "go to the library" seems quite rude. There are many of us out here who aren't super...

Re: OK, critique my Save The Date

Hey! That's a good idea to use a super 8 look. Yes, Motion sucked me in, I admit.

Funny thing is my LCD/cam meter said it was exposed properly and it wasn't. I trusted it to my detriment.

I'm holding my breath and ready to receive the blows. Aside from my focusing issues please help me get better by telling me what you might do differently, and lo and behold if there's anything that...

Re: Can't Find Settings Answer for 60D

Yes, absolutely convert 60D footage to ProRes! I use (LT) and others all over the web say it's indistinguishable from HQ but much smaller for our type of work.

Re: Can't Find Settings Answer for 60D

Yes, you're right. I was combining two different synced clips and got all confused as to the settings I should set and forgot that once I put the silly things in the timeline FCP will set it anyway....

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Unfortunately any money gained from the sale of the HV's will go toward my second 60D. That was the "deal" I already made with mah man! I'm just waiting to sell them till after two scheduled...

Can't Find Settings Answer for 60D

OK, if this is somewhere easy to find, please direct me, I can't find this answer. What settings in FCP 7 do I use for 1920x1080 24p? I'm confused because there's an option that says "HDTV 1080i...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

I'm probably going to deeply regret using my HV40 & HV20 as my non-stop running back-ups. But, what d'ya do? That's what I have for now to use. Those two seconds worth I'll need them for will take...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Yes, the Panny was my other choice when I was purchasing. But now with 2-60D's, if I get another it will be another 60D because of batteries & lenses. Those things add up really fast. And also in...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Jealous here of not having to restart.

: (

Got my shoot done last night, but everyone was late so shadows were long and sunlight was scarce. Will be looking at it starting now!

Re: Wedding Dress With Long Train

Steve,

That might work, but fences are dirty around here right now being just the beginning of spring.

Yeah, the groom will have to look away! I'm sure she won't want him seeing it!

Maybe...

Wedding Dress With Long Train

I need your help! How can I film a wedding dress with a long train outdoors? Any ideas? Of course I can't get it dirty. I'm shooting the lovely couple this evening in a field but they may be game...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Michael,

Ahh, good point. But during the ceremony, do you think it's better to use the loupe to make sure focus is right?

Re: stabiliser for 60d

Steve,

I have the Glidecam 2000HD and it is fast to stick my 60D on as long as I'm only using one lens (Tokina 11-16). Have it pre-balanced and a QR plate that's universal for all your equipment...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Yes, this is exactly what the problem was...lack of experience. With that shallow DOF I had a hard time getting the right part in focus in the large array of people in the audience then up to the...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

Hi Joshua,

Yes, I thought it was in focus during the shoot, but apparently it wasn't when I put it on the big screen during editing. So yes, I needed magnification. I wear contacts but these...

Re: Focus, Shutter Speeds, Timelines, ISO

OK, so I guess I'll be needing a filter then for outdoor shoots if it's sunny.

How about the focus issues? Anyone? Advice please?

Monitor or loupe?

Or is it just as simple as turning...

FOCUS: I had f/stop all the way open at 2.8 on my 70-200L IS...
