Handheld and shoulder stabilizers
 

Hi guys, i'm looking for a shoulder mount type stabilizer for my camera. I'm going to be doing A LOT of shooting in various environments, from busy cities to uphill climbing in remote areas and from the weight of my vx2k + beachtek + mounted shotty mic, its killing my deltoids! I was checking out this link

and would like some opinions on which one I should select. Keep in mind, i will have a dxa-8 too so i'm not sure which brace will be compatible with that... thanks a lot!

Spike, you mihgt want to check out the DVRigPro from DVTec.

It is more expensive than the shoulder mounts you posted, but it will avoid any arm and shoulder fatisue you might experience with a shoulder mount or handheld.

The secret is teh springy support pod that is attached to you via a waist belt to the bottom of the rig. This pod absorbs most of the bounce and shock that a support brace won't.

Although not a fluid and steady as a glidecam (which is way more expensive), it can give you rock steady and fluid shots with no fatigue what so ever.

The STASIS system provides the shoulder mount support and gives you the advantage of using a full size battery to power both the camera and accessories. You can now use the same batteries and accessories on your full size camera and your small DV camera. If you need to power additional components add the PowerTap multi connector and run the lights, wireless receivers and hard disc recorders all from the same battery. The system also provides a 1/4-20 screw for mount onto a tripod.
