Question for Danny Natovich on DVRigPro

"The new DvRigPro's back part was modified and is now about 2
Kg Lighter. The support belt is wider and paded, The pod's holster
is detachble and deeper. and the support pod has two locks."

Danny I just purchased a DVRig from BHPhoto a few weeks ago, and it has 2 locks on the support pod.
Do I have the new one, or did the old rig have 2 locks on the pod?
Also what is the purpose of having 2 locks on the pod as opposed to only one. I was trying to figure this out as I was trying to practice moving with it.

Thanks,
Michael

With the two locks pod you can extend the pod and lock it at a higher position then before.

It is recommended to use the top lock to fix the camera height and leave the bottom one unlocked.

The bottom spring is harder then the top one, Use the one that is best for you. Notice that leaving both springs active, Both locks un locked, Can cause a small jerks in the pods movment.

Danny.

Danny, thanks for the answer to the pod.
But I was also curious as if I have the new DVRigPro that I purchased last month from B&H. As I said it does have the double lock pod.

Thanks again,
Michael

Have a look at the front page www.dvtec.tv

The new have a blue light shoulder brace.

Michael Liebergot March 25th, 2005 11:17 AM

Well I guess I have the old one as the shoulder brace is Black/not Blue and the waist belt is Red/not Blue.
I thought I might have teh new one because in a previous post it was mentioned that the new one had a double lock on the pod.
BTW Danny, is there any way that I would be able to get the new Waist belt. The deeper pocket would be a welcome addition.

Thanks, I love the product anyway.

DV Rig Pro

Does anyone know where I can see a DV Rig Pro in NYC? I went to B+H but they don't have it on display and wouldn't take one out of the box...
I'd love to at look at one in real life before I get it.

Thanks to all who reply.

XL and DVX

I got both Canons and DVX cameras that I will be using could i use the dvrigpro with the XL? I would hate to have to buy two versions.

Also will i have a problem mounting my rods w/mattebox on the rig? for the DVX

Danny Natovich March 31st, 2005 12:17 AM

It is not recomanded to use the XL on a DvRigPro. you can however save by purchasing only a front DvRigXL (Half the cost)
and use it with the DvRigPro back part (Shoulder brace).

The back part, the support pod and belt are the same for the two models.

Danny.
