DVRigPro - Does anyone have any footage?
 

I just received my DVRigPro and would like to see some footage of how other people have used theirs, and what I can expect quality wise (practice will surely be a big factor).

Did you mean footage that we shot using the DVRigPro? or behind the scenes footage of us using the DVRigPro?

sorry for not being clear, I meant actual footage/scenes (though it wouldn't break my heart if I also saw some behind the scenes action of the DVRig in action). For now I'm just trying to get a clear image in my mind of what I can expect, i.e. what is the primary goal for using this tool...

I guess it might seem odd that I'm asking these questions after already buying it, but there were so many rave reviews and I had decided it would at the very least serve as a better way to do hand held stuff. I'm fairly new and I did some interviews recently where I had to hold the camera for about 25 minutes straight because we didn't want a tripod look, so, although it came out fairly well, I thought this tool would at the very least allow for much longer shoots with a bit more control (hopefully I don't get slammed for complaining about 25 minutes, perhaps you pros can hold a camera for hours!). ;-)

What did stand out to me as perhaps NOT the best use, was when I started walking with the unit, admittedly it's not marketed as a steadicam, but I wanted to see how others were using it and what the footage looked like.

i've used the DVRig Pro with my Sony Z1 on several shoots already, and am still making up my mind whether to keep it or not. It's very good at helping you steady your shots, but rather awkward if you need to change to a high angle or low angle shot very quickly. This is mostly due to having to lock the sections of the support pod before taking the rig off your shoulder. I'll probably end up keeping it to use when I need it on certain shoots. (As Scotty would say, "use the right tool for the right job")

It's not a replacement for a steadicam or glidecam, but if you practice your "Groucho Walk", you can pull off some pretty good shots.

On a side note, for those of you that have the DVRig Pro - where can I find the SuperLube lubricant they recommend using? I've looked in hardware and automotive stores- no luck. My support pod is starting to stick, making it difficult to smoothly do shots like pushing in and adding a little headroom. Or is there something else to use that won't gum up the support pod?

Why not ask the manufacturer, myself, about pod problems ?

And I will try and solve the problem.

Just wanted to know where to find this "Superlube" brand of lubricant you recommend in the instructions that come with the DVRig Pro. I've looked all over, but haven't found that particular brand. Is there an alternate brand you recommend? WD40?
