Redrock Micro Shoulder mount

I understand that the Redrock shoulder mount has gone up in price and for the deluxe bundle with two extra mounts the total comes out to about $700. My question is, Is this shoulder mount still worth the cost? Is there something else cheaper or around the same price that you guys have had great experiences with?

Thanks in advance.

I have used only 3 shoulder mounts, and the RRM is the best one I've used. It could be quite a bit better with some small mods, but it's still good. Only you can determine it's worth to you, which is why people probably are not answering. $700 to you may represent a HUGE amount of money, whereas to someone else, it may be a pittance.

I remember seeing the Element Technical Mantis shoulder mount and saying THAT was the best shoulder mount I had ever seen and was going to get that one. Until I saw the price was nearly $2k.

Best of luck with your choice.

RR stuff is nice

I've spent a few $$$ and a lot of time trying to find the right setups for me and despite getting parts from Cinevate, Easom, CPM, Hot Rod and others off ebay - the Redrock stuff I have is my favorite. I'm getting ready to get rid of most of my other shoulder support parts in favor of more RR gear. I'm a great example of shoulda spent more up front rather than buying twice. The RR parts are definitely superior to the others in terms of construction and attention to detail. I'm going to take a bath on selling off my other parts and despite that, I'm still going to go ahead and upgrade my stuff to RR.

I'm looking at the microshoulder mount but have read that some people have to tight the clamps enough that sometimes they strip the threads. Is this a common problem? And how would a similar setup by Zacuto compare quality-wise?
