Tripod lens mount for rods - what kind of rod clamp can be used?

I have a sony LA-E2 adapter for an FS100. The adapter has a tripod mount at the bottom and i would like that mount that to my 15mm rails so the adapter can take the weight of the lens and prevent twisting.

However i would need to change this adapter at times.

So i need some kind of quick release clamp.

This can't be an uncommon requirement because lots of heavy lenses have tripod adapters on them, so what are people using with their rod systems?

The issue supporting an adapter is more difficult because in order to take it off or put it on, you need to twist it into place. So the rod support side would need to come away completely otherwise you can't twist.

So it would be a case of twist adapter on/off then add rod clamp and somehow fix the adapter to the clamp...

help!

thanks
Paul
