Nori's episode will be up in the weekend. You can check out
the opening and episode 2 already at www.ladyxfilms.com

Wow! Very impressive so far! I'm intrigued,

Rob Lohman June 11th, 2003 05:08 PM

Now we have to wait for people to get "hooked" <grin>...

Glad you liked it, Chris!

Server

Hello...

Is it only me or is the ladyxfilms.com server down at the
moment? That wouldn't be good since I'm pretty impatient to
watch Episode 3.

Regards,
Till

John Locke June 15th, 2003 05:23 AM

Hi Till,

The Lady X server is working fine here for me. Are you unable to access it?

I haven't announced today's episode yet...working on installing the rating software for that episode and having some difficulties. I'll send out the announcement as soon as it's hooked up.

Thanks for your interest!

P.S. By the way...I enjoyed your performance in last episode! :)

Update: Looks like Paul saved the day...he got the rating software running. I've got a bit of tweaking to do but that shouldn't take long.

For future reference, I don't post and announce the new episodes until 10 p.m. Tokyo time on the scheduled day. That makes it about 2 p.m. your time in Germany, and early in the morning for viewers in North America...that way, everyone sees it on the same day and during waking hours.

Zac Stein June 15th, 2003 07:29 AM

John,

You have a stray X in the direct download link for ep 3, i had to hack around the site to pull the shortcut out and modify it to work for me.

Zac

John Locke June 15th, 2003 07:34 AM

Zac,

Thanks for the heads up on that! This upload might be a bit buggy, so please let me know if any of you find anything. I've tweaked just about every page in some way or another...minimizing graphic sizes, trimming code, etc...to try to decrease loading times.

Zac Stein June 15th, 2003 07:51 AM

John it is pretty damn quick for me to load, but then again, no offence to anyone... Macs are just slower to load pages than Pc's, must be something to do with the html code and stuff.

If i was to change anything on the site would be the use of frames, as in, get rid of them hehe..

Zac

John Locke June 15th, 2003 07:54 AM

I've never understood why some people are so anti-frames. Back in the dinosaur days of the web, I agreed with everyone else that frames were usually s-l-o-w loading. But nowadays...no problem.

Keith Loh June 15th, 2003 11:02 AM

My reasons for anti-frames:

- search engines do not pick up content pages
- easily screwed up in browsers that are not the optimal size
- hard to throw links to people
- sometimes navigation can be screwed up going forward and back. Only really solved with Javascript.
- hard to maintain, annoying to develop

Yea, I was unable right before I posted. I've tried multiple
times to connect but the server didn't respond. Now
everything works fine again.

Hehe, thanks! I'm glad you liked it... I really love getting
some feedback on my work, either positive or critical.

Thanks for that info.

BTW wouldn't it be good to start Lady X threads on every
film related board out there to promote that great concept?
I guess it can't be so bad if everyone's talking about Lady X :)

We hit several of the key ones, but I am sure that many good ones are missed. Do you have a list of sites that we should hit?

I encourage everyone to spread the word about Lady X. We can use all the promotion that we can get.

Sorry, no. I mostly hang around on german boards
(filmerforum.de and forum.regie.de) and I've posted there
already.

Yea, and I think the traffic coming from the boards is very
filtered and qualitative traffic.
