the black sheep reel

Hello everyone!

we'd like to invite you to have a look at our cinematography reel on http://dp.theblacksheep.be

It's a mix of music videos, commercials and narrative all shot on video using various DV/HDV cameras and 35mm adapters.

If you want to see more, our work as directors is on http://www.theblacksheep.be

Hope you'll like it, comments and questions are more than welcome!

Take care, cheers

Olivier

Might want to add that it's a demo reel...I felt like I was watching an out-of-sync music video.

You must have missed it in the original post, he mentioned it was a reel.

It looks fantastic. It's a demo reel so I didn't pay attention to the editing.

But if one were just to view it on the site itself without reading the above post, they would probably think the same.

Well, I just watched it knowing it was a demo reel and

that the music was inconsequential and i got confused for a second as well.

First off, the cinematography is gorgeous and you have some stunning images in there. Congrats on that. While overall, i liked the music with the reel - particularly where the guy was breakdancing - I too was a little confused in the beginning when a character is speaking and you can hear the singing. So maybe rethinking that slightly would be worthwhile. Also, you have a lot of fairly grey images upfront and i started wondering whether you were opposed to shooting in a well lit, sunshiny kind of space.

Anyway, lovely work. Really.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Yes, we should probably change the order of a couple of shots, it might be confusing ;-)

Yes, we shoot a lot of things with a kind of desaturated look, we enjoy sun...unfortunately there ain't much in Belgium. We think of moving to LA sometime in the future, it will probably change the look of the projects we shoot ;-)

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Olivier
