No comments? Didn't see that coming. :-(

Hey Bill, the cinematography was great. Can you give some inside in to the choice to shoot B&W?

Daniel Pace October 5th, 2008 01:06 PM

Bill, firt of all, I love films with little or no dialogue. The use of BW makes sense; a bit cliche but it makes sense in this story. The cinematography is very nice. It could have been a bit tighter, shorter, but I like the concept. I enjoyed it.

Jay,

Thank you, the choice to go B&W was the Directors I like B&W so I never asked him why he wanted it, I will and will get back to you.

Daniel,

Thank you, I agree it could be tighter I work with a lot of first time or new filmmakers, and this was a learning experience for one of them.

Thank you both for viewing Never Again and for commenting.

Nice work on everyone's part. I love the flowers being in color. The location is very nice as well. The rain - well, who doesn't love rain on screen? Nice cinematography. Appealing actors. Great shoes.

It needs to be shorter. And the opening shot looks like the opening shot to a commercial rather than a short film. It threw me for a second.

congrats. Good work.

Lori,

Thank you, for the comments, the rain was manmade, I built a fixture that shot water up into the awning.

You are the second person to comment on the "commercial" look of the start, I did not pick up on that when we were shooting however I do agree.

Hey Bill, great cinematography - I liked your choice of composition for a lot of the shots. The story was good too (very poetic).

I also liked the choice of B&W too since it reflected the world of sadness and despair that was surrounding the girl and since the flower represented the hope of elimination of those negative emotions, it makes sense that the flowers would be in color. A creative idea indeed.

Nice work all around!

Nice images and feel to the film.

There are three things I didn't really like:
-The effect on the flowers, I sometimes saw the mask move.
-The length and timing: this could've been shorter and more effective.
-The music: why not use some setnoise? It's not a music video!

But overall not bad!
