RC Helicopter Aerial Footage
Brett Horton Brett Horton is offline February 16th, 2009, 09:56 PM

Hey Guys/Gals!
Thanks to all that have help in the past couple weeks with the minor problems I have had with editing....

Below is a link to my website that has examples of our work.
Everything from the flying to the camera work, to the music, to the editing was done by us.
Hope you like. (Don't critique the editing to much! As we will stick to providing the footage not editing!!)

Cool and could be useful for music videos or car chase scenes.

What a great shoot

Thanks to DVI for making this shoot possible.

I can't recommend Brett and his team highly enough. Under impossible conditions (below freezing temperatures on rough seas), they got us some fantastic footage of this journey that was featured in the New York Times and the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer, on CNN and on ALL of the local channels in the NYC area.

The chopper is extremely cool--it can run for 12 minutes and when paired with the EX1, it gets incredible footage.

If you are even remotely considering this option, please contact me for more details.

Is that an electric helo, or gas? And do you have the camera on a gyro? I can imagine the servo logistics with zoom and pan is a nightmare.

Electric, yes the camera is on a 3 axis gyro stabilized platform that moves independent of the helicopter.
We use all three axis, pitch, pan, and roll for motion.

Here is the link to the Documentary ( of us "documentarying" the documentary )
It is about 70 megs, descent resolution for such a file, the footage from the helicopter was shot from an EX1 at 24 frames 1080
