What is this for?

This is an ad that we did for practice. Any and all comments are appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Pretty neat. I thought the lighting good have been a bit better.
I would have thought you had closed with "Only REAL Diamonds
Are Forever"... Hehe.

The shot framing is a little strange on the lady - she should perhaps have more space to "look into". Also, about half way through you "cross the line" making the man appear on the right of the screen, instead of the left. This is quite jarring.

The burning tie is great! How did you do that?

The word "Only" bounces in which doesn't look as "classy" as the way the rest of the words at the end appear. I think classy is good for the end of the commercial, and the word "Only"'s transition seems out of place. However, I really like the way the diamonds appear at the end.

The lighting is pretty good, but perhaps a softer light would have worked better, with softer shadows? Did you think about doing any kind of "beauty" glow with either a pro-mist or doing it in post. It might be a bit cliched, but it would be interesting to see how it would have looked.

I liked the script, witty, and good punch line.

I meant with lighting that the faces fall of too much on the other
side. So a bounce would've helped there in my mind. Not that
it should be as bright, but just a tiny bit to fill it up.

Regarding the Burning tie...The burning tie effect (actor's idea) was done by dousing the actor's tie with nail polish remover and lighting it on fire.

Really? Cause I thought it looked computer generated. Heh. The
real world can surprise you sometimes. Perhaps I'd need to
watch less of those hollywood explosions and fires <g>

Yeah, it was a spur of the moment decision, that could have easily gotten out of hand. Good thing it worked out though and we got the shot.
