The proper music would make it great. I think for what you have invested in it already, you should find a musician to do it, or at least look for a good piece of classical music that would suit it (probably with some editing to match it). -->>>

Dylan was spot on, the silence is akward, almost an akward silence as it were...

If you do decide to score it or add some classical music and reedit I'd recommend trying to use less dissolves. I just put together a little video basically touring somefriends house (I'll try and get it posted later today) and the first edit I did before getting music from one of the house dwellers. It sucked trying to edit it! And then when he did get me the music and I put it to the video it didn't seem to fit quite right. So I scrapped the edit and quickly went through it again and it went much smoother.

Is there going to be another contest anytime soon up there? I'd love to get involved in the next one if I'm around.

Cheers,
Brian

for Brian

Brian,
Look me up in the Anchorage directory and shoot me a call sometime (didn't want to post my # here for those data miners out there =). I'm usually home after 6pm until the weather breaks anyway. During the summer I'm out at my cabin from Friday evening until Sunday.....and or out fishing.
Rgds.,
Dan

GREETINGS COMRADES!
Bob'sShorts, Alaska's ruling junta of handcrafted moviemaking, calls all
workers to come to the aid of the party and rally around the people's
medium. Announcing..

ThrowDown12: WERKERMOVIES

Eschew intelligentsia and effete, elitist attitudes that seek to destroy
the people's revolution with fascist dictums! Lift your cameras in answer
to the call, be they film or video, new or time-tested, and free your
huddling camcorders yearning to shoot new movies! Hit the barricades for
the new Alaskan moviemaking revolution!

DAS WERKERMOVIES MANIFESTO:

* I will not make a movie longer than 15 minutes!

* I will pay a $10 entry fee (per movie)!

* I will email CJs3@compuserve.com or call 248-4336 by midnight Friday,
April 9th to sign up and accept the challenge!

* I will bring or mail my movie submission on VHS, with my $10 check made
out to SUMMIT DAY, to AMIPA, 1325 Primrose St., Anchorage, AK 99508, by
5pm Friday, April 30th or suffer the people's punishment: BESMIRCHMENT!

Revolution-undermining, restrictive fine print:
All Alaskan moviemakers are invited to take the challenge, and risk the
dreaded besmirchment if they slack.

All proceeds go to support Bob'sShorts' diabolical scheme to ignite
moviemaking culture and creativity in Alaska. So dig deep.

Time, date and location for the "ThrowDown12: WERKERMOVIES" PRIVATE
Director's screening will be announced after April 9th.

And prepare yourselves for the Bob'sShorts ShowDown, coming this May to
Organic Oasis in Anchorage.. More statewide screenings to be announced
soon.
