well done! thats excellently shot and edited, im getting my xm2 (pal gl2) in a few weeks and can't wait to start playing with it. how did you manage to get the effect where the video was inside the drawn computer (what nle, plugins, settings etc)? Iv got vegas but my old minidv camcorder's dv port has completely broken (the insides somehow got snapped), so i cant actually use the program yet.... once again, congratulations - keep at it.

made the computer image in Illustrator then exported to PS then made the screens Green then went to Vegas and chroma keyed it. Thanks for the good reply though

Giuseppe,

Very nice editing. I feel that it went well with the music and the cuts were just how they needed to be. Good Job! Keep it up!

Also, Harry, another way to put your video onto a screen is by using garbage mattes. Just shrink the video down to what size you need and then add a garbage matte to the video and round the edges according to your "frame" which in Giuseppe's case is a computer screen.

Hope that helps some more.

I just sent you a email.

Giuseppe,
That was a nice reel.
Did you use any 35mm adapter because there are some shots that really looked like you used an adapter.
But the reel was really nice though.

Giuseppe Palumbo August 8th, 2005 12:41 PM

I wish i had an adapter..aha..but all i did was just set the camera to frame mode and like used custom presets like i put the saturation mostly down and some other stuff...if your referring to the aperature and DOF i got, i just put the camera far away as possible and zoomed in while the F number was all the way down...i think its like 1.8 or something, i cant remember but yea...
thanks though.

Hmmmmmmm, I noticed if I have my XL2 further away from the subject I am trying to shoot and then zoom in to like half, I get a better quality shots.

gorgeous

You have a great sense of pacing. The edits were just friggin' fantastic. I've used a GL2 befre and I'm really surprised by the quality of your shots. That's some really porfessional looking stuff, keep up the good work.
