I liked it. Editing should have been a bit tighter IMO. Good job though.

Good job Erik!
I think Jeff has a point. While the editing is fast-paced, there's something about the rhythm that does feel off. In some instances you have extraneous shots, such as the doctor leaning in after "starting at 280" that was obviously inserted to avoid a jump cut; it could have cut instead to the paddles approaching the chest with the voiceover "clear" just before the shock which would have tightened that section and achieved just as much. The performances were a little on the slow side also, in many cases they could have been paced up. This sort of thing can be hard to "feel" on set but it never hurts to get an alternate take with more energy or speed. Also, the music track is on the low side--more dynamics in the mix, especially when there is no dialogue, would have helped keep it moving along and feel more cohesive. Otherwise, it's a nice concept and a good entry for that contest. |
