Loop

Hi,

I'm pleased to show my 2nd short movie.
It is called "Loop", and was shot in Paris, FRANCE, during winter 2005.

The story is about Claire a Remi. They love each other, but are somehow frightened by "the test of time". So they are looking for a way to renew themselves. A way to become what they are not...

The video was shot with a JVC GY DV300 camcorder (similar to Sony PD-150). Sound was recorded with an AT897.
The budget is around 50 dollars.
35$ for a 2 weeks wheelchair renting.
the rest is DV tapes, and some biers after the shooting :p

We wrote, shot and edit it in 3 months, which was very short to manage to do what I had in mind in the first place.

I've encodes two versions of the video :

http://gilz99.free.fr/Loop/Loop_sub.wmv

for PC users. Video size is big, but blacks tend to be a little bit grey. Please lower your screen brightness

And a QT version for Mac users and Winodws media Players fiends

http://gilz99.free.fr/Loop/Loop_HQ.mov

Video is smaller ( 360x288 ) but blacks look the way they should.

Dialogues are in french, but the video is subtitled in english.

Well, I think that's it !

;)

what a script? it describes one of the most important aspects of relationships. constant need for change while staying the same person. as if like a part of every men's life. I even feel enlightened. :)

and i dont need to say anything for the rest of the film. just perfect

thank you for sharing

Gilles,

I didn't get it until the second lap, then I thought it was a great concept and very well done. Thank you for sharing it, you should be proud! I'd love to watch again if you every expand it to be "what I had in mind in the first place". You're quite talented.

Gilles, I did watch it twice, but by the second lap I meant the actor's second lap around the building.

oops, sorry for the misunderstanding ;-)

Actually, Vincent (who plays Remi) has such a different face with the hat and the glasses on his face that many people think the actor is not the same.

It took me at least two laps to catch on - maybe more. The second and third times I watched it, it made more and more sense. Well layered and very interesting concept.
