My first paid gig

About 3 weeks ago the AP history teacher at my school contacted me about working with him on a project. He'd seen some of my work the previous year and knew what I could do. So, he gave me some tapes to capture and told me to make a 1-3 minute highlight reel for the all american lacrosse showcase. If I did well and the folks at USTC (united sports training center) liked the vid. He would hook me up with all kinds of work from the local sports center.

So, I cranked this video out and they were blown away! I think it was the lightning at the end :). I got the job and now get to shoot the games and bring home the cash!

YouTube - All American Showcase Highlight Reel (My first paid gig)

It was shot on a GL2. It was my first time working with standard def in a long time but I did my best to make it work and bring it to life in post.

Color correction/slo mo/effects were done in after effects and it was cut in vegas.

All feedback is greatly appreciated!

Well done. I like it, fast cuts with good sound fx equal awsome. When I first click on the link and the video start. Right a way I knew it was done in After Effects and indeed it is.

Thanks! Glad you liked the sound fx. Layering in the sound was my favorite part of the process, really helped flesh out the visuals I think.
