Underwater music video t2i/550d

A low cost music video we shoot using Canon HDSLR and a Dicapac housing
It was hard for novices like us, water is a difficult medium.
Hats off for the professional underwater shooters!

Juan,

Mate, I didn't understand a word that was said because I don't speak, what I assume is Spanish but I take my hat off to you guys. That would have taken real perseverance and I think you should be proud of yourselves, particularly the young women singer.

Well done.

Al.

PS. I've got a Spanish speaking friend and I've emailed her the link so I can find out what the songs about....I'm curious now!!!!!!! :)

Neat

I enjoyed the video and your work ethic. So the keyboard did not work before you put it into the water I hope yes, and the tape player?

LOL

how did you get the music to her to do lip sync?

Juan Tizon October 13th, 2010 03:27 AM

Yes itīs spanish... "suppose one day i go away"
We had a pair of big speakers outside the pool with the bass turned up, it was easy to hear inside the water.
Everything we used was already broken, yes. :)
All was shot in three different days, it took about 5-6 hours per session to get everything in place and start shooting. I needed one person to hold me underwater as it was quite hard to get steady shots if your feet are floating around.

I didn't understand a word of it either. Its nice when you do something that transcends language.

Very well done. That's a long time for everyone to be in the water.

Juan excellent job here, i actually love it that you are showing the behind the scenes and what it took to shoot the video....great all the way around and the song is also very nice, quick question what water housing were you using?

Ivan Martinez October 18th, 2010 08:59 PM

Sorry about the question i just read your post and it states which one....again great job.

OutStAnding!

I have a couple questions if you can spare a minute:

-exactly which model of Dicapac did you use?

-what lens(es) did you find worked best with the housing?

-how did you handle focus and exposure challenges?

-what sort of planning went into each shot and the overall project workflow?

-was there any slow motion, or did the water create that effect?

Congrats...well done!
