officiant website ad....
Hey, what do you think of this? I was hired to create videos for an officiant company for each of their officiants. I unfortunately was shooting with a 7d and a nx5u, so the footage doesn't seamlessly merge together, but they weren't expecting a perfect job. (they would rather have 2 cams instead of one). Also, the ceremony was about 9mins long so I could barely scrounge together enough footage to complete their 3 min requirement.

I have edited your post in order to properly show an embedded
Vimeo player. When posting Vimeo clips to a DV Info Net forum, *do not* use any special embedding code; simply post the direct URL of the clip. In this case it was: Code:

Re: officiant website ad....
The concept is good, but the execution could use a bit more polishing. I'm assuming this isn't a rough draft, so I'll direct my comments towards a final edit:
Get rid of the focus hunt at the 15sec mark, only 1 second is actually in focus, and it doesn't look deliberate. Some shaky footage around :32 and :52, stabilize any shaky shots unless it's for effect. You might want to adjust headroom (pan/tilt in post) on the 2nd angle shot of the reverend at :24. He looks like he's sinking into that couch.Color match your cameras on the processional. Tighten up the edit at 2:38 where the clip starts off with the officiant turning a page. There is an audio glitch at 3:20 before the crowd applauds. If you have any reaction shots during the ceremony, they might be nice to include. You should also include some sort of contact information (beginning/end or on a lower third throughout) for someone to contact the reverend. Sorry if it sounds nitpicky, but I'm assuming you want to put your best work out there. |
Re: officiant website ad....
Thank you Oren,
Yes this was actually a rough cut made to show the person who had hired me so that we could see if he liked the basic gist of it. I have to do several of these but only had a days time before I was shooting the next one. Unfortunately I didn't get any reaction shots because the bride didn't hire a videographer so I didn't want to intrude on her wedding (but she did approve of me being there of course). I will certainly take your advice and adjust a lot of it accordingly. Thanks alot for the help! |
