The Giant Manta Rays of Thailand

Relax and take a subaquatic flight with the graceful "birds of the deep", the giant manta rays of the Andaman Sea.

Huge thanks to Solidtrax for the music "Are We Dreaming".

As always, it looks best at 720p HD in a big window or full screen.

All feedback is welcome.

Re: The Giant Manta Rays of Thailand

Hi, Nick.................

Wouldn't play full screen for me, no matter what I tried.

Bummer about the suspended sediment (or whatever it was) that clouded the water, spoilt what would otherwise have been magnificant footage (and boy, have I been there, done that, one way or another, over the years) though audio is the usual culprit for me.

Never done the diving thing.

Can I take a wild stab and ponder at it being shot not too long after the Monsoons?

Can't imagine any other reason for there being so much suspended crud in the water, the critters not around any other time of the year?

Good stuff though.

Regards,

CS

Thanks for the feedback Chris.

I don't know why you'd have a problem playing YouTube videos full screen. I've never had a problem with that.

It wasn't particularly soon after rainy season, and that water is normal or even relatively clear for the Andaman Sea. If there's no plankton in the water, the mantas have nothing to eat. The YouTube encoding doesn't help. It's impossible to predict when the mantas will be encountered. Not much of a pattern.
