After the rain

It is just a brief contact with nature alter a rainy day in my country. listening the birds and other expontaneous noises in the farm. The place is 50 K from our capital, Asuncion, but, we say whne we go there: We are getting into the time machine, because the life far an not so far from our city, is like going to the past. some places with not electricity, water etc. Only the nature talks.

this is the video: i do not know if adding a links is permited.

Hi Raul,

That was nice to watch, I think you could have put some fades in there though.... ;) Some of the pull backs were a little quick and a little too far, the young goat (if that is what it is!) in particular. I think if you have well framed still scenes, like you mostly have, you're probably better off staying with still scenes. The praying mantis probably didn't need to be panned, it would have been effective walking across the frame. Some of the shots looked to be hand held and a bit wobbly, if you don't have a tripod try and brace well or set the camera up on a bit of wood or an old tin or similar. Contrast on some shots was a bit hard but that may also be a You Tube issue. The pull back to black as your closing shot was nice.

My real gripe would be the music, well not the piece, but the volume, I felt it was far too high, I think it would be used to better effect as a filler for when the background sounds dropped off.

I suspect there would be a lot of background sounds, I feel you could record them, even just by sitting the camera out in the field and recording, then pull only the audio off and use it.There are times when man made music is inferior to that of nature and I think this is one of them, especially when there is a rich diversity of natural background sounds that suit the shots, as seems evident in your location. For that piece there is no real need for syncing. The only time you'd need to sync is if you had the raindrops plinking into a puddle.

I enjoyed it though.

Al

That was great. Sure wish I was there..

I think its ok to be cuts only, i would however make sure the cuts happen on the beat of the music, it makes it flow better. I agree that more natural sound would be better,

About the only criticism I have and this is personal preference is I'd take out all of the zooms.

Nice job.
