Kampfansage

Well I'll be b....

I always thought Kampfansage was shot on 35mm. I mean the look of the trailer, the sound, the effects, everything all looked like an really cool 35mm action movie. I thought that it looked amazing for a 35mm film... and then I found out from the DVX forums that is was shot on an XL1!!

Download the trailer, and be completely and utterly blown away!

It's indeed amazing if it was shot on a XL1.

You can clearly see though that they have excellent production values and the lighting is extremely well executed. The scene where he is looking at the book is one of the best examples.

Although they must have saved a lot on camera equipment, I'm pretty sure they had a decent budget for the entire production.

Hard to believe.

There's some things that just can't be done with a XL1, like that good latitude. Obviously they used very good lenses, but xl1... we need proofs. :P

Found a set pic of the XL1 used on the shoot: http://www.kampfansage.com/galerie/2.../KA-SET_25.jpg

It's modded as hell, looks cool

That is one sweet rig. I wonder how much they have in it?

This is really unbelievable. I don't know anything about that particular film itself, but at least the trailer was outstanding and of very high quality. I'm wondering if they are going to show it in cinemas? I never thought that MiniDV picture can be used for professional cinema production because of its rather low resolution.

It's an XL1 with cine style lenses. It looks funky because it is underslung on a steadi-cam rig. It also has remote focus pull capabilities. Looks cool though.
