Junipero: The Last Son of Celestie

Hello folks, I finally shot some footage for my short film Junipero: The Last Son of Celestie. It is a prequel of my previous short film "Junipero" which can be seen here: http://www.citizencine.com/junipero/

Will upload some footage here soon, meanwhile... here are some screenshots.

It's a Canon XH-A1 (I love it!) and a Redrock M2 35mm adapter. Glad you like 'em!

But you shot Junipero with XL2 right? That was awesome.
So which camera you like better A1 or XL2?

That is correct. I shot Junipero with an XL2 with the stock lens. I recently upgraded to an XH-A1 with a 35mm M2. I'm in love with the A1, yes, more than the XL2.

Sweet!! What did you edit with? How long was the shoot. Great work. I notice some Manhattan shots, did you need permit?

Marcin Wilczek February 5th, 2007 11:13 AM

Hi Danny,

Everything is done in FCP and After Effects.
I have been shooting for 2,5 days,
If the camera is handheld you don't need permit to shoot.

Jimi King February 5th, 2007 06:59 PM

Hmm.I can't wait to see the finished product.
I have access to XL2 and after seeing Junipero I decided to use it but now I think I will wait for your thing.

Beautiful! Confident. Dynamic. Every shot a gem. Images compliment the content perfectly. Top notch! Inspiring!

10 Films 10 Weeks Screening (NYC)

So, I made these Ten Films in Ten Weeks. I posted them all online, and now I want to have a party.

I'll be showing the Ten Films in amazing full NTSC resolution on the big screen at the Millennium Film Workshop, 66 East 4th Street between Bowery and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, at 8pm sharp on Friday, February 9th.

Come see!

Closest subway stations are the 2nd Avenue F and the Broadway-Lafayette 6 (and D) stops.

I'll be adding a tiny bit of bonus material, and total running time should be about sixty-five minutes.

(I'm asking for a $5 donation to defray screening room expenses, but if for some reason you can't afford that, come anyway.)

Michael

Cinemascope HD demoreel

Feel free to tell me what you think. I've been experimenting with web-codecs, but finally I found something that should play rather fine with most. I'm still looking for a solution to stream the video that preserves more of the original HD quality - so any help on this is welcome...

Mike Horrigan February 7th, 2007 08:23 AM

Something was wrong with it in my browser. I was getting a small 4x3 window and everything to the right seemed to be cut off.

Using Firefox.

EDIT: Played fine in Explorer.

Also, the music seemed a little over the top for what you were showing. The footage was very nice though.

Just my 2 cents.

werner , i'm curious to know how you got a true 2:35:1 file?. I assume you are shooting in HDV 16:9 and doing something to it in post or in the export.
Could you run us through your process?

Andy.

Glad I could help out in your decision making :)

Hi all,

I'm reviving this old thread just to say that Headshot was selected at the Hollywood DV Festival in March.
It will be shown at the Fairfax Cinema Theater in Hollywood, California on March 26th 2007.

That's great news, just wanted to share the info.
