Live or Die
Hi
This is my first post, so by way of introduction here is a short film I made a while ago. It is a 4 minute thriller, although at it's heart is a love story, albeit misguided. I hope you enjoy it. http://www.savefile.com/files/9777337 |
Thanks, it was very appealing. Very dynamic sound. Videlook was but as i said it was so appealing that i had no time to rate anything else

Thanks for the comments. The film has been garnering excellent reviews.

I jumped out of my skin when he picked up the phone. My speakers were on so loud from the previous video. Great, now what am I going to do with this pile of skin?

Slash
Quite nice...I also liked the gloved hand on the phone.
|
hey, that was quite nice...
I mean, there is few handheld shots I did not like and some not too good lighting in some shots, but overall impression is really cool! nice editing... voice over at the end, explaining that the guy is mixing fiction and reality in his dying mind is unnecessary. It is obvious what is going on. I guess you was afraid that audience won't get it. I think you don't need to worry about that, there will be always people that won't get the point... :) good job! |
Great job! I loved all the blood stuff that you did! and with the flashing back and forth! Very nice editing. How long did it take for you to make it?
|
It took a few weeks, on and off, to film and edit. As all aspects of the filming were done by myself, the most difficult part was composing the shots and then stepping in front of the camera to "act", whilst ensuring that I kept within frame boundaries.
The comments so far have been very perceptive. For instance, the voiceover explanation at the end was not in the original edit. I would have preferred it without but the feedback from friends and family was that they had difficulty fully understanding the piece because of it's non linear structure and imagery. I would be very interested to find out what scenes were considered poorly lit. I did try to light as best as I could, but I'm still very much at the learning stage and it's difficult when you're also in the scene. Any specific feedback on the lighting and the handheld scenes would be extremely helpful. |
I've just found out that Savefile has had a serious problem with its server, deleting most if not all of the files stored there, including mine.
I have re-attached "Live or Die" using rapidshare. Please let me know if anyone has any problems with the download or if there is a better free hosting site to use. Cheers. http://rapidshare.de/files/30749825/...it_18.wmv.html |
I'm getting 'file not found' - what am I doing wrong?
|
Hi,
My guess is you've tried to download the savefile version. This has been removed from their server as noted in my previous post. You will have to download the rapidshare version. I hope that helps. |
It was cool!
I think you should keep the voiceover explanation at the end - at least if you plan on showing it to a regular audience. |
What was it shot with?
|
Sorry for the delay. Just got back from holiday.
It was filmed on a Panasonic GS400 - excellent camera |
The link appears to be dead. Here's an updated link for those wishing to see the film. Thanks.
