I just finished my demo reel and would like to get some opinions on it. Let me know what you think! It was all shot with a DVX100B and it was from my most recent work. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Great job! Awesome footage! Very nicely done. I was very surprised at how well the low light shots looked.

Nice Reel, loved the time lapse opening, and through the dancers, baby and massage...you maybe could have used some quicker edits during the 4x4 stuff, and I thouht the two voiceless interviews at the end didn't add anything and should get cut. But hey, that's just me.

I'm putting my reel together, so it's always good to see what others are doing. Check out http://www.doublevisionproductions.com for an interestiong reel that loads immediately in flash. It's faster paced, with a little more dynamic music.

And the opening two shots of the 4WD (before actually starting to drive...)

I disagree on the flash thing. Yep it loads instantly, but hey... I cannot really see what kind of images these are...

It's not my site. But I do remember reading a thread where I think he was using XL2's.

My comment about the site was more to do with the style of the demo. The pacing, the music, the choice of images. While I have seen some better reels, I think it's pretty good as a reference.

Thanks for the comments so far. This will give me an idea of what footage to take out. I am waiting for some footage I shoot for another client to put in, so I will just take out some of the stuff people are not liking and replace it with the new footage.

I use a DVX100B and the opening timelapse was shot with my Canon 20D DSLR.

the whole first half is great, i've watched this several times now, trying to figure out how to give you some useful feedback. at exactly halfway through, the style flattens and the pacing drops off. the first half shows a range of looks and the back half doesn't do that. i'd pick up the pacing, and save something showier or add something with more flair to the end. end on a high note. the talking heads don't work there...they make the reel drift off, instead of ending definitively.

you do nice work. try to sustain the feeling you establish in the first half throughout. faster pacing? more variety of looks? the first half has interesting lighting, the second half flatter, ambient lighting....
