$7K Canadian Film featured on Twitch

Hey guys,

I just wrapped a feature that I wrote and directed. It was shot on the DVX100B for about $7000 Canadian. We're just beginning post-production, but I cut together this teaser to gain some support. Looking for some help on FX, sound, and web work...

Twitch just did a little news story on it, and the link to the teaser is there.

Looks good. Not sure what it is about, but post more when you get a chance.

From the teaser I got pretty excited. Good direction, shot framing. I'm impressed.

There's a synopsis in that twitch article I posted. Cryptic I know, but sort of part of the films design. It's in the vain of stuff like Pi, or Donnie Darko.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Much appreciated.

My suggestion is since most people won't read about it that you make it clear in the trailer what the movie is about. Add some dialogue or the classic cheesy trailer V.O.

Yeah, there was always a plan to make a trailer with Dialogue, VO, and plot elements... a traditional trailer that is.

This however was always meant to be a "teaser"... just a tease of visuals and mood to raise awareness for the movie.

I'm nowhere near being able to put together a full-on trailer, since I'm still editing the film.

The teaser was cut to help try and raise some support for sound-design, score, VFX, etc -- which so far is working out great.

But watch out for a "Trailer" in a couple of months. ;)

Looks really great man. In the article it says its a real DIY guerilla film, so I'm curious what you did/used for lighting. Because the images and colors are great.

succes in post

We had a couple of home-depot work lights which worked great wherever we were able to plug them in.

Other than that just really deliberate composition and framing, and CC in post (again very careful).

thanks btw. ;)
