It was pretty funny and an overall good job. My only criticism is that the 180 degree rule was broken a few times. Rules can be played with of course, but in this case it didn't seem like there was a particular reason for it, and just took away from my own viewing experience.

But on the whole the plot was a great idea and the end was quite funny.

Thanks. Yeah, the director flatly does not care about the 180 rule. She insisted on those shots during the shoot and later during editing. It bugs me too. Her argument was that only filmmaker types are bothered by that stuff, and true to form, they are the only one's who ever comment on it, so who's to say she's wrong?

I'm film school trained, but the space was so tight that the 180 degree rule breaks didnt bug me too much. My only knock is she needs to vary her shot selection, all the shots looked like medium shots

By the way, and I already know this has been asked seven thousand times - and I've followed all the thread's suggestions and links on how to improve this - but what exactly did you submit to Youtube to make this video look as good as it does? I can't get anywhere near that good, and I'm really trying. The Youtube version looks simply horrible no matter who's settings I use. I even downloaded some guru's compressor settings and got the same crap.

To be honest, I don't know. A friend of mine threw it on there for us. I can ask him. I think he might have done some color correction as well. You can see a lot more in the window behind the two main actors than you can on the DVD. Thanks! :)

Oh, in case nobody noticed -- I wanted to point out that the name Mr. Charlie's is sort of inside joke. It's what an older family member of the director (she's black) calls white people. Karen thought it was just her, but I guess it's an old time expression. We were watching "In the Heat of the Night" one day and one of the characters used it. We started laughing hysterically at the recognition.
