A jab at a new film
Here's a short flick I just made. I come out of poetry so maybe it's a little different experience.
http://elmerlang.com/LBL.html (4:12) There's some audio issues (grumbling, a couple pops) compressing for the web I still need to work on and I found swinging the prop in an arc it just wouldn't stay in focus. thanks for watching, elmer |
Gleeful bloody piano
Very different Elmer, but nicely done. Liked performance, austere treatment and segmentation. Wouldn't have hurt to see blood on knife or pullover for more visceral impact. Also liked use of music-especially piano piece after midpoint at Glee. Also, I'd rather the knife came from unfocused to sharp focus as it approached my perspective, if it has to be one or the other.

As Paul suggests, try setting the HV20 to Manual Focus and make the in-focus point at the termination point.
...Could also be the shiny knife that's giving the auto-focus some grief. Give it a try with a dull, rusty shank instead. IAF/AF may do a better job tracking that. Andrew. |

Get Help Now?
Never seen performance art or slam poetry? Appreciate it for a unique POV, and a look at a different mindset. Think outside the sphere.
And don't forget, it may be cathartic for the artist. iPaul |
Have a watch through Elmer's other stuff. Has more of a Monte Python meets Laurie Anderson feel to it than "man with unresolved issues".
Definitely not mainstream, but therein lies the 'art of it! Andrew. |

Great work Elmer! I really enjoyed that original piece, definitely a unique perspective. As you said you come from poetry and I loved the poetic style of the narration. I burst out laughing when it's said "Trust me big on this, they look just like 'em". I think I might have to start saying that.
