Not bad for a rookie ???

looks good. From an audience stand point, the first two shots made me confuse and were rather dull looking. But after that I was interested.

The first image is the ruling commission and the APBA Alberta power boat ass. The girls were confusing??

Who owns the Copyright to the music you used?

This post seems like one of those questions that are asked when the answer is already known.. :)

- I liked this. Was particularly interested in aerial shots you were able to pull off. Smooth and well done. What did you use to shoot this? How many camera's, etc.

- One criticism is that I didn't actually think the music matched that well (even though I like the music, not the point). I also think there could have been a little better scripting the video together to tell me the story of what was really going on. But I understand this may be difficult to do if you have limited footage.

Nice job... particularly for your "first" production..

Do any of ya know how much it would cost to get a liscense for 500 uses of that song??
The footage isn't limited by any means. We have 160 mini dv tapes to filter through. I just wanted to have a quick look and post up something for all the racers.

We used 6-10 onboards, a helicopter for 9 days, and 3-4 guys on the ground.
For cameras we used z1Us for the ground work, In the air I used an xl1S..freehand..didn't always work well in 20 knot winds. I really wanted try shooting in HD with the sony from the heli, but couldn't risk missing shots with a new camera and mixing formats.

Warning Personal Comment:

The girls were confusing because I could'nt read the sign very well, and then when I saw the girls I had no clue what their purpose was. Honestly I had no idea it was about boats until I saw them.

If I were to do it I would use a title instead of the sign, and then go into the awesome shots of the boats instead of the weird shot of the girls.

Thanks for letting me know Vince. You did a really good job overall. I "kinda" agree with the comment on the opening. But with all that footage, I'm sure your final project will solve all these "minor" issue's..

Jon
