Kdenlive monitor distortion

I'm running the latest update of Kdenlive, 16.12.3, on Manjaro KDE. I find that since the update from 16.12.2 the monitor window shows clips split vertically into segments, a bit like overlaying playing cards over each other from left to right so part of the face is showing. It's not just new footage, I reloaded a project completed in 16.12.2 and it did the same. It looks OK until starting play, once segmented it stays that way even when play is stopped.

As yet I haven't found a way to stop it. Anyone else had this and if so, how did you stop it, or did you? I find no mention of it on the KDE forum.

Re: Kdenlive monitor distortion

Don't rush to answer, it seems that suddenly Kdenlive will no longer handle 10-bit input, whether that's permanent or just a glitch in the update I can't say. I have been using ProRes Normal (4:2:2 10-bit) with no problems until the update. It seems OK with DNxHD 8-bit.

Cinelerra (GG 5.1) beckons for now!

I'm not seeing anything like that with 10-bit input formats in KDenLive 16.12.3 on Kubunu 16.10 (AMD 64). They play on the Clip and Project Monitors quite normally.

Re: Kdenlive monitor distortion

Seems like it's OK on Mint too. Maybe I'll try a re-install.

Nope, it was MLT, a re-install sorted it!

Re: Kdenlive monitor distortion

You could try updating your FFmpeg build to see if that does anything. Kdenlive relies on FFmpeg religiously.

Re: Kdenlive monitor distortion

Thanks Jack, everything was up to date.

Manjaro has access to the Arch User Repository, it seems that something I installed from there and recently updated had also updated MLT with the wrong version for Kdenlive. I removed that and re-installed the Manjaro version which made it work normally again.

I have yet to find what, if anything, changing MLT will stop from working properly.:-)
