When the scan is complete and a frequency automatically selected, you can then simply point the receiver at the transmitter and automatically sync the two units to each other via infared (IR) transmission. I loved how simple this was. I can imagine this feature alone would save loads of time in the field when you have multiple wireless units using various frequencies."

Looks like a fabulous system but priced more than a new X70.... My video prof always said, you can fix lousy video with stills and editing. Lousy audio is another cat, if you don't have good audio, you don't have a good production!.

I just picked up the Tascam equivalent. It's really amazing for $200. I used to use the JuicedLink LittleDARLing, but the tascam is way better. The Lectrosonics unit has lots of plusses -- but for the price... the Tascam will do.

I'm assuming there is a 'lock' button since the buttons are exposed?

I own one and I can confirm that yes you can indeed lock the buttons.

A small "padlock" symbol appears. It is in the menu and you just select yes/no for it to be locked.

Ryan,
I think you might be confusing this with the PDR from Lectrosonic. I do not think there is a wireless unit on the market for $200 that will compare to the LT/LR system. I have owned the system since it came out and it has never failed me. Amazing sound with a Sanken COS-11d mic.
Also I have their PDR which is great when a small portable recorder is needed.

Now Lectrosonic needs to make a dual LR.
