xdcam transfer and mac OSX leopard

It works, but for some reason the disc doesn't show up on the desktop and the disc names have bizarre names, not the ones I gave them.

I am seeing this same behavior. Sony says no release for Leopard yet.

Phil Bloom November 8th, 2007 09:52 AM

yeah, looks like there is some incompatibility. Hopefully version 2 which I haven't downloaded yet will fix this...although it is more a Leopard issue. Am having all sorts of strange finder behaviour with external drives. That's the problem with buying new software on the day of release!

any sign of a fix yet? I need the finder to show my xdcam discs so i can backup my ex1 cards.

Called Sony yesterday, Sopose to be another release of software in December that is Leopard friendly. Also to note is that firewire drives with mounting then unmounting they do not mount again until a restart with Leopard.

Anything new on this?

Joe Lawry January 20th, 2008 04:47 PM

Was just about to ask about this.

Just bought a second hand Dual 2.3 Powermac g5 as a transfer machine and it came with Leopard,

I installed XDcam transfer 2.1 on it last night and was having the same exact same issues as Phil has been having.

I also had discs randomly ejecting themselves off the machine, however not physically ejecting themselves out of the deck. The V1 deck also froze a couple times as well.

Has anyone found any fixes for these issues yet?

I think its time to go and downgrade back to Tiger.. just when i thought i'd upgrade all my machines too 10.5..

No update yet...Lets hope soon, I think by NAB for sure, I had heard Feb?

This is so very typical Sony. Their track record on support for the Mac XDCAM Transfer software has been atrocious since before the initial release, and their usual reticence to release anything in the last months before NAB or IBC is a joke (the joke is on us).

Sorry for the lack of good humor on the subject, but it just stops being funny after a while.
