Transferring XDCAM files to external HDD

We use Avid Liquid, and can import files from a USB hard drive that have been copied from original disc without problem. When copying to the HDD we transfer everything on the disc.

However, we cannot seem to view the proxy files that are on the USB disc by just using the Sony proxy viewer. Is it just not possible, or, are we doing something very silly?

Which version of the browser are you using - PDZ-1, PDZ-VX10 or the proxy viewer?

If any but the PDZ-1, are you opening the proxy file itself? Does this work?

I've not tried this route - I'll give it a go - just copying the files over now...

Paul.

When you copied all the files from the disc, did you keep the directory structure intact? The proxy files are located in the SUB folder. You should be able to open the simple Proxy Viewer and point it to that directory with the File/Open MXF command.
