New Firmware PKG-1.95/AT-1.20 for F335/355

New firmware for the F335/355 released on the Sony US website.

The release notes are currently only in Japanese, but I called Sony about it and they are working on getting the English translation posted soon.

Based on the couple words that were in English, it looks like they fixed the EZ FOCUS bug I had reported. :)

Hopefully that means that V1.2 for the PDW700 is on the way soon?

Eugene,

Can you give us this specific link to Sony's US website? I can't find it.

Thanks!

This is it https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/son...l-PDWF355.aspx
I hear the PDW700 v1.2 is going to be November.

Thanks Steve!

Do you know what the v1.2 for the 700 is going to offer?

Steve Phillipps October 2nd, 2008 04:20 PM

720P for sure, and I think 1080 30P,timelapse enabled, SD mode.
I was told November but it was supposed to be October.

So have any of you installed this new firmware on the F335/355 yet?

Does it work well?

I've learned it's not always best to be the first adopter, so I'm curious on the results before installing.

Thanks.

Hey Eugene, I think it's YOUR turn to be the guinea pig. Let us know how it goes! <j/k>

Ok, jokes aside, if you can make sure you have the previous version stored safely on a hard drive, rest assured that you can revert back to the prior version of firmware.

If you do happen to discover any bugs, please share with the forum and I'll make sure the right person at Sony finds out about it.

regards,

Oh, OK. I didn't know it would let one downgrade, if needed.

And oh yeah, I'll let you all know if there are any problems. I'm most interested in seeing if it does fix the EZ Focus bug that it mentions, and that I have hit.

Ive read the release notes.

Is it right that you cant access the service menu without setting the dip switch inside the cam after the new firmware upgrade?

Regards

ULI

Eugene,

Is the EZ Focus bug you've reported now working on your camera? I have the latest firmware (Version PKG 1.96 - AT1.20) installed on my camera and have it assigned to button 2, but it's not working like it did on my old DSR-300P.

Eugene Kosarovich April 25th, 2009 02:30 PM

As of PKG 1.95 - AT 1.20, the EZ focus bug was fixed on my F335, working like on my DSR-300A.

I didn't upgrade to PKG 1.96 yet. I'll try and do that soon and post my results.
