PDW700 Availability
 

Does anyone know of anywhere (in the USA) one could buy the 700 now? Abel has said they won't have any until March!

Also, does anyone know of any rental houses in NYC that rent the 700?

I heard a rumor that Sony were selling off some ex olympic PDW-700's in the US.

Those units were already sold before the Olympics even started. :(

I read this week that Italy's RAI Television ordered 180 pieces...

That's right! And the Bayerischer Rundfunk from Germany ordered 98 pieces of the PDW-700.
RTL group from Luxembourg also adapted XDCAM HD422.

You can imagine where lots of those units are going to.

We are meant to be getting our F700 at the end of the month (January), I am expecting a call from the dealer today to confirm this. I have a feeling he is going to tell me there will be a further delay.

Speaking of ex olympics, i just managed to pick up a Panasonic btlh80we half price after its short life at the olympics, stoked.

We place an order at the beginning of December, with an expected wait of 8-12 week wait period. Our supplier called at the beginning on Jan (almost 4 weeks to the date) and it was in for pick up! We were pleasantly surprise to say the least.

It seems that Sony, nor the broadcasters are suffering from the economy crisis...
