Damn, beat me to it!

Time to start saving the pennies!

Alister Chapman January 10th, 2009 10:47 AM

Even on an EX3 or F350 that would be a wide lens!

Ivan Snoeckx January 10th, 2009 11:01 AM

Yeah,

You'll get 96.3 degrees at the wide end in 16:9.

Simon Wyndham January 10th, 2009 11:10 AM

It'll be interesting to see what kind of distortion it has.

What I'd like is a video version of this! <drools all over keyboard>

That's three degrees (do i hear '70s music?) wider then the Fujinon 13x3,3 for half inch XD...

I bet it will cost almost twice as much.

Who needs that extra couple of fractions of a mil?
I think they'd better off rather than extending the zoom range and widening the field of view, just to improve the bloody performance and get rid of all the abberations in these HD lenses!
Steve

I agree Steve. The only problem is though, what is the likelyhood of a company releasing a new lens with the tagline "The new Canon HJ14, because our last lens was rubbish!" ;-)

However I have to say that the J11 is one of the few lenses that I really like.
