F330 test movie

I have made some test shots with my F330 and put together a short test movie.

The file can be downloaded from here www.bbfilm.dk/hd/xdcamhd.wmv

It is 960x540 2mbit wmv9 and the size is 30MB, for a 1.53 min video
I did also a 1920x1080 9mbit export, but the file went out to be 129 MB and that exceed my space on the server!!!

The settings was out of the box 1080 50i 35mbit. Standard Canon auto focus lens. f2,8-5,6
Time was in the middle of a very sunny day, with extreme contrast between shadow and highlights!!!
Imported to my computer, trough FAM, dropped on the timeline in Avid Liquid and exported in std HDV2 mode with a vbr bitrate of average 35mbit and peak at 60mbit.
This file was then imported into Edius Broadcast and edited here.
The export was done with Canopus pro coder express, which is a part of Edius.

One of the days I will se if I can find time to make a very short native mfx HD clip and a 1920x1080 wmv9 file.

what lens?

That stuff is great!

What lens were you using?

Thanks,
Max

I used the standard Canon lens, that comes with the cheap package.

VCL-719BXS KH19x6,7

Nice stuff, Brian. I like that even the single silk strands of spider web are visible in some shots.

I just did my first slow motion stuff today shooting 60 fps and playback at 24fps. I think me and the 350 are going to be friends for a long time.

I agree--very nice.
You said the standard lens that comes with the package--does that mean the 330 comes with a lens for the listed price? Is that the silver colored lens I've seen in the photos?

Not to answer for Brian but the 330 is available in a body only or with lens kit. Yes, the silver colored lens is the Canon VCL-719BXS auto focus lens which is supplied with the F330K. The F330L is without lens.

The F350 is offered in body only, no optional lens kit.

Yes it is the silver auto focus lens, seen on some pictures.

The package is called PDW F330K.
Here in Europe the F330 is sold in two configurations:
PDW F330K with lens, price around 17000 EUR the one I have bought..
PDW F330L without lens, price around 13200EUR

As I can calculate, the difference in US dollars would around 4000

The only real drawback I can point at, is the focus ring spins endless..
Coming from a XL1s I am use to it, so I can live with it.
If the price for the package, is taken inconsideration, you get a lot of glass for the money.

Put on a battery and of you go.

I bought two 130w batteries. One is enough for a days shooting.
