DR60 issues

I am using my DR60 with a Z1u. I am recording 1080i 60 in DVCAM mode to both the tape deck and the DR60.

When viewing the tapes, everything is perfect. Video is fine, audio is crisp. Here is the problem:

When viewing/editing the .avi file using Vegas 6 or Avid I have absolutely no audio! The video, as seen on tape is fine. This problem also occurs when viewing with windows media player 9, divx and 2 other viewers (which were on a friend's computer.)

Now when I view the same file using quicktime, the video is very very poor, but I do have excellent audio.

I have been diligent in making sure I have installed/updated the latest codecs and have tried viewing these files on multiple computers/laptops and even a Macbook pro. The problem is consistent and persistent. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

ps If this is in the wrong forum, my apologies. Figured I'd start here with those of you familiar with the DR60.

Update/correction: I do have audio using vegas 6.0 but still nothing using Avid Express Pro, windows media player or divx player. Any ideas?

I'm just guessing but did you shoot in locked audio or unlocked audio?

looks like a problem of type1 or type 2 avi.
