HVR-DR60 vs. HVR-MRC1

Need some help making a decision.

Sony | HVRDR60 Hard Disk Recording Unit | HVRDR60 | B&H Photo vs. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/580065-REG/Sony_HVR_MRC1K_HVR_MRC1_Memory_Recording_Unit.html
With Sony's new rebate on the DR60, is this a no-brainer? I like the fact that the MRC1 uses cards and DISLIKE that DR60 is hard-drive based. But now for the same price, does the DR60 become the obvious choice?

I shoot on the Canon XH-A1. I know the MRC1 works with it, but does the DR60?

Now that I think about it, the MRC1 is actually more expensive now if you factor in the cards needed.

Both HVR-DR60 and HVR-MRC1 can switch between "video" mode or "computer" which make the recorder act as a normal ext disk or a capturing device. The HVR-MRC1 however does this automaticly and I have read many reports about users having problems with the HVR-MRC1 acting as a ext disk instead of recording device meaning it won't function untill the recorder communicates in the right way with teh camera. there seems to be a workaround for this but it is not 100% failsafe. The HVR-DR60 on the other hand requires a manual setting, so you just manually switch between computer or video mode and it just works, period.

I have used my dr60 now for over a year and have been very happy with it, I always record simultaneously to the HVR-DR60 and to minidvtape (with my xh-a1) and until now it does what it's supposed to do. (knock on wood)
I also get a lot of hours usage out of one single np970 battery and found a way to easily attach it to my camera.
You can read a bit about it here:

Also, don't forget datavideo, half the price: Datavideo Technologies Co. DN-60 - HDV / SD CF Card Video Recorder

Hi Noa, Where can you buy Dn-60 here in the States? I can't find it on Amazon or B&H. Ugh. In fact, I can't find ANYWHERE where they sell it Stateside.

I have not seen any reviews on the DN-60. I wonder how it compares to the FS-H200 from Focus Enhancements.

From the looks of those websites (I went to 20 of them), it would seem that they have no idea what a DN-60 is, or even Datavideo.

B & H Photo sells Datavideo products, maybe they will sell this when it is available.
