These are the ones I like best:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/646870-REG/SanDisk_SDCFX_032G_A61_32GB_Extreme_CompactFlash_Memory.html
But when I bought a bunch a few months ago, they were only about $75.

I don't know how well the MRC will work with 64GB cards.

I can't imagine the battery not working. I do it all the time.

Yes, I use the 970 with the MRC attached. Everything fits just fine.

I have bought several used MRCs from B&H and they're great.

any other brands of card i should look at ?

sandisk from all the posts seem the best

what about lexar transcend etc

i spoke to a B&H rep he said the transcend 64gb works great - once the transfer rate is 400x or 60mb a sec

can any one respond to this ?

also i am trying to get minimum 2 cards

does anyone use the transcend or any other lower priced cards?

I have one Transcend that works fine. I had seven Kingstons and all of them failed after a couple of uses. Kingston blames Sony and Sony blames Kingston.

I know cards are expensive but cards and batteries are too important to be looking for a bargain. They're never cheap in the long run.

32GB, 133x. Had it about 2 years now. Keep it just as a backup card -- I only use the Sandisks regularly.

Re: Best Best compact flash Cards for HVR MRC1k recorder

thanks for the responses - i opted to buy a brand new mrc1k vs the used one since i am outside of the US

right now i am deciding on what card to get

i initially wanted 2 64gb but a sandisk 64gb is appox 400us

a transcend is 165us

i have after reading tons of posts decided on a 32gb cards i just have to decide on a brand

i am though looking at transcend lexar sandisk

and i am leaning at this

It looks like a good deal and I'm sure those cards will be fine. But interestingly, here's a table that shows the cards Sony recommends (actually to perform a firmware update, but still). Note that for the Lexar 32GB, they recommend the 600x card, but for the Sandisk they recommend both the 400x and the 600x.

No, no emails. I just sent a test email to myself and it hasn't come through either.

There's a thread elsewhere about emails not coming through. Maybe something on the site is broken.

Re: Best Best compact flash Cards for HVR MRC1k recorder

Most of our work is studio-based so I use a Sandisk FW800 reader attached to my big editing desktop rig. There are now eSATA readers that are potentially somewhat faster. I have 16 Sandisks and four other cards. We shoot with four cams so I have four rounds before I must clear and reuse the cards, without having to dip into my second-level backup cards.

Any questions about the Z5 should go into the Z5 forum where lots of different experts can see them and provide feedback. I'll be more than happy to pontificate there as well.

The email function on the site appears to be busted.
