HC1 no longer plays back or records?
 

Okay, I am just getting ready to leave on a trip to germany in a week.
I go to my HC1 to playback a HDV tape, and nothing. I record, nothing.
It has been working fine up to this. Is there some type of safety switch?
I tried the reset button? Can the heads go out like this or something?
Is this worth repairing if it is broken?

Just what I needed, a trip of a lifetype, and my camera dies. :o(

It dosn't take much crud to clog an HDV head. I suggest you try a cleaning tape for 10 seconds.

Thanks. I have not put that many tapes in, but had never cleaned.
So, after using the cleaning tape many many times, it has started to work again. Am concerned for how long, but hope this fixes for a while.

suggestions for a good HC1 cleaning tape? I haven't cleaned my HC1 since I bought it in April 2006
