Interesting discovery on the HC7...
The HDV firewire out WORKS in camera-memory mode. Meaning you can do 1080p30 using the firewire out, you obviously need an external deck or HDD recording unit to do so but this was discovered when I switched to camera-memory with a firewire plugged in. Only downside: AGC only audio.
