Camcorder return!!

I just recently returned my Sony Camcorder to Bestbuy, to see if they can fix it and hopefully they cant fix it because if they can't then I will be able to get another one. My question is that if they cant fix my Sony camcorder, do I have to get another Sony or can I get another kind?

That's a question for Best Buy.

I worked in Camera store a lot of years, in store like B.B and in professional store.
As a Camera guy I know what you think(and what I would think also).

But as a salesman who have a manager I would give you a same brand camera of the same model if possible. Because its not a promotion or a lottery ticket for a better camera or to please the customer. But if you are a very good customer that spends
a lot of dollars every year in my store for the past couple of years, or you are simply a nice guy I would let you choose and would not ask my manager.

The rep of Sony or Canon and Nikon are very present(weekly) in the store and they will make shure that the salesman dont profit another company. If I would have done this I would lose the gifts (T-shirt,Grand prix tickets, pencils) from my favorite reps.

Also it can be tempting to give you a camera I know is out of production soon but most of the customer will not know.
But as a member of Dv info you will now know how a salesman might think!

I know B.B have a policy in Canada of charging returned items,
15% when the box is opened! Its the first time I hear of a policy like that.
