Which microphone are you using on your HDR-HC1?
 

To continue my "which ... are you using on your HDR-HC1" series of posts, I would like to hear your opion on microphones. Sony is offering two models in my country: The ECM-HGZ1 Gun Zoom Microphone and the ECM-HST1 Stereo Microphone. I have no idea what the big difference is. I would like to hear if everyone has experience with these two microphones.

Furthermore, I have read some good things about the Rodeo Mic or something. Can someone fill me in on this one?

I am also a great fan of Sennheiser gear. Which microphones they are offering are appropriate for the HDR-HC1? I read that you might need an adapter for many microphones, who can tell me more about this?

I have some sennheiser microphones tested however at the housing of the hc1 gave it also many interferences of the drive assembly. I developed for high-quality sounds (nature noises or music instruments) a stereo microphone "Ohrwurm" for the fx1 or hc1 (or Minidisc), this in the ear was then carried! With this Ohrwurm you have a great binaurale soundsystem......superlinear 20-20.000Hz +-1,5dB. http://www.fxsupport.de/hc1/hc1_5.html ....to make excellent quality surround recordings with your HC1. on my sides I write also over the hc1 and various sennheiser microphones. the old me80 (ebay) is a great zoom micro for the camcorder......

Same here, I live in the Netherlands so I can even pick them up if you like. It might cost me a day of driving but I don't mind that.

I do not have experience like for a long time the journey abroad with DHL last. An earworm is on the way to Australia that is a good test. How can one pay favorably to Germany? Money-Transfer? Paypal?

Within European Union you can pay using bankgiro. I purchased a indie-movie from finland by just paying through my Internet bank. Outside of Europe you either have to use Swift money transfer or Paypal or something. I don't know what fee's Paypal have and when they pay out the money. They have a kind of minimum 50 euro fee or something when they pay out the money.

I called straight my bank. The "Deutsche Bank" cannot help me, the fees is nearly as highly as the entire ear worm costs!
Now i look to Paypal.....

I have used pay-pal to send money to other countries before. As long as your account is set up on your side. Another idea is to list it on e-bay.
