Low light perf. w/wide angle lens

I've heard some theories that the HC1 would probably perform better in low light with the wide angle lens due to the larger surface area of the lens. Can anyone confirm improved low light performance with the wide angle lens?

Low light perf. w/wide angle lens

hi,
'xuse my ignorance but is the low light performance of hdv consumer/prosumer video camera lens adapters enhanced by the center resolution or by some other property. could somebody explain how this center resolution affects the video image. I see in the Raynox range that this center resolution varies from 275 lines/mm to 600 lines/mm. is there a minimum acceptable center resolution for hdv ? does anyone know what the center resolution is on Sony adapters ? does a lens adapter with a center resolution of 600 lines/mm produce a sharper/better image than a 275 lines/mm one. what are the vital specs to consider when getting a lens adapter for A1 & HC1 in order to optimize hdv image quality.
cheers all

Cannot give definitive answer but i doubt it. The extra light gathered (if any) is "spread" across the extra angle of view with WA lens so i don't think it'll help. I have another Sony cam with one of their 0.7x WA Hi-Grade lenses and i have noticed no extra light at all when fitting it. I think it's a myth.
