Sony shows A1 footage on 4000x4000 pixel proj.

At Sony's NAB press conference they used their 4000x4000 pixel SXRD projector to show A1 footage by a mountain climber.

The shooter had no shooting expertise. My dead grandmother could have done better. But, when she stopped waving the camcorder around, the HDV video looked very good.

In fairness to her, the camcorder may be too light for most shooters.

your dead grandmother's footage definitely would of been more stable..

...might actually be a good cheap alternative to the cinesaddle.

don't go gettin' any wild ideas!

We at LABCA (Living And Breathing Cameramen Association) don't take kindly to producers who try to undercut our livelyhood by employing deceased family members. Who knows what could happen: Your Lithium Ion batteries may suddenly get 'memory problems', you could wake up with a Bogen head in your bed, or your softnet filter could get replaced with a wrinkle enhancing filter.

Just a little 'friendly' advice from local chapter 503

But Steve

What was the footage like, detail, compression, colour etc?

Does the AI suddenly look too poor on a super HD screen?

Anyway, have you heard anything about the new cameras HD1 Everio replacement, the h264 Sony Panasonic AVCHD, and Samsung cameras. etc?

Thanks

Wayne.
