Mother's day footage
 

During my research for the HC-1, I often wanted to see clips from others with Hc-1's.Therefore, I decided to post a link to a quick clip I shot today. The purpose of this was to play more with my camera and iMovie HD more before I go on vacation to Jamaica. Please let me know your thoughts and please be kind I know I am a complete and utter rookie amongst Pros. I used cinema mode and imported the video using 25 FPS in iMovie. I don't know and can't tell if this made the any difference.

I enjoyed cruisin' your blog....great stuff!

I was curious about using the cinema effect with your HC-1 and then editing in iMovie, as you stated, at a 25 FPS rate.

Since I viewed the Mother's Day footage on my G4 17" screen, of course, it looked great; but how does it look after say, you burn it to DVD and view it on a big screen, widescreen hi def TV or whatever...

Does it still retain the cinema look you were hoping to achieve? (I read the HC-1 cinema effect eliminates the manual exposure options)

And please indicate the steps you took in iMovie to utilize the 25 FPS.

One of the things I was disappointed with was the export back to tape. When I showed my footage to my family on our 72 inch HDTV it was very very jerky. This was not the case for the acutal clips that were shot straight from the camera. The import process was very easy:
1. create a new project
2. tell it that it is 1080i
3. under preferences set the new project frame rate to 25 fps
4. plug in the camera and import

I've read that HD does not import in real time. That is not the case for my Powermac. I need to check it with my Macbook Pro.
