Best piece of Equipment for the HC1 & A1U!

I am very happy today!

I just recieved the SHIM bottom loading tape adapter for my HC1.

If you don't know about it, you need to find out about it! Ithink it is the BEST piece of equipment (other than the basic things like MIC's and light's, etc..) for the HC1 & A1U camcorders.

I love that I don't have to take off my Tripod adapter, cold shoe adapter & beachtek dxa-2s xlr adapter to just change a tape!!

NOW I CAN LEAVE MY HC1 ON THE TRIPOD AND CHANGE A TAPE!!

I am not affiliated with the maker of this product, I am just a very happy consumer and amateur documentary maker that found it frustrating and time wasting that the HC1 & A1U camcorders are bottom loading. I think that was the MAIN fault of their designs.

Check out the adapter here:

I bought mine on eBay for $31, well worth it!

Has anyone else had the same experience with one or thought about getting one?

I told the maker that he should get it out to B&H to sell!

Well, I'm off to shoot an interview.

C-ya!

Very nice design, but unfortunately did not work with my bogen tripod head. Jeff, the creator, does offer a money back guarentee if it does not fit your head, but just kept it incase I switch tripod heads. Either way...if it fits your head, it is an outstanding addition.

Yes, it's a very thoughtfully designed object! I liked the little cutouts so that you easily access the FW/USB/AV ports.

The Cavision one blows. It doesn't allow the camcorder to have a balanced rest when the WA lens is attached and such. DeMaagd's is so much better, and cheaper. It is meticulously molded with the grooves where they need to be. I also like the weight it adds to the camcorder, making it less prone to shake.
