A1U in Guatemala
 

Greetings from Guatemala. I have been using both the Z1 and the A1U here, but hiking in the jungle makes the lighter weight of the A1 ideal. After a couple of days, I also dumped the tripod; the monopod works very well. Lots of humidity, but both cameras seem ok; just keep them out of air condition spaces and hour before you shoot. More later. I have also been using the manual exposure lever...a lot it is very helpful. And hope to use the Merlin shooting pyramids today.

I look forward to the updates too. I'm very interested in how the A1 holds up in humidity for long periods of time.

Humidity Issues
 

were basically non existent. Having said that, I must tell you that the A1U was, for most of the time, in the Jungle; not going in and out of air conditioned spaces. But I have virtually no problems with it, and it looks like the footage will match very well with the Z1. (More on that later). By and large it is a very sturdy camera. I used a Sennheiser ME64 instead of the Sony issue mic and the audio is quite good.
