HDMI Connection

I am having trouble getting my HDTV (Dell W3706MC) to recognize the camcorder through the HDMI connection. It only recognizes it occasionally and I haven't been able to determine what I do differently when it does. What are other's experiences using HDMI?

This problem turned out to be a faulty HDMI cable.

I took the HC3 and the cable to the Sony Style retail store (Dallas/Galleria) and asked them to plug it into one of their TVs. The woman who helped me was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She verified that my cable didn't work on two sets and that two of their cables did work. Later I bought another cable and it works on my set.

I was impressed that Sony hires people for those stores who really know what the are doing.
